Why Line Drawings?

I hate having a busy mind! Well, I don’t actually hate it, sometimes a busy mind helps me to find solutions to problems. What I hate is when I can’t turn it off! When I sit in church, sometimes it is hard to concentrate on the preaching as my mind is racing and working and figuring what to do to fix some problem elsewhere! By concentrating on the line drawing, my mind slows down, and my ears can concentrate on what is being said.

Since my eyesight plays tricks on my mind, I have started listening to the Bible being read. To allow me to focus better on the words being spoken, I draw these designs. It again allows my mind to focus on what is being said as my organized doodling produces these drawings.

I hate waiting! I spend a lot of time waiting. I used to peruse the internet, but have lost interest in the latest news! Now when I wait, I draw! Instead of putting trash into my mind, I am able to create these drawings. At my age it is important to start putting out and stop taking in.

Back when I started writing more and producing the fixitguysolutions.org website. I showed some of these drawings to some young men at my church. They were more interested in these designs that what I was writing about! While these designs are just a hobby for me and the Biblical things God has shown and taught me are more important to me, I have decided to allow others to see these drawings.

I look at line drawings like I look at people. They are all similar, yet very different. They all have beauty and many flaws! The real beauty shines forth when many are looked at over time. The flaws aren’t noticed or become part of the beauty!
